Default Stake not played?

I just staked someone for the 25 cent MTT, but the guy didn't recieve the stake in time so he sent it back. I confirmed the transfer in "My Stakes" but am not sure what to do next. The stake is still open, so should he report the winnings as $0.25, $0.00, or do I need to make a post in the fix my stake forum about it?
