I think the classifieds section is going to have next to nothin in threads if your going to put an expiration date on the thread. Make it a one time fee if you really want that sub forum to get any action at all.
This isn't just my opinion, I was planning to make a thread in there, but then saw you have to renew every 15 days and decided it wasn't worth it.

the worry is that if it doesn't expire, the forum will just become a cluster**** of bumps.

That's true, but better than having next to nothing in there. I guess you can give this a trial run and if you aren't happy with the popularity of the sub-forum maybe consider getting rid of the expropriation date.
Like the idea though.

wont the BAP Trade threads auto-locking after 30mins be a bit of a mess if i dont choose a bidder/dont get a bidder within that 30mins (assuming im not just posting a thread to rubber stamp a private arrangement i had already set up with another member)
It would mean I would have to create another thread and the bidders in my original thread may not make another bid.
Realistically speaking, BAPs are generally only updated on a daily basis at most so i would think this 30mins limit could be extended.
obv, this is may be a meaningless point as id imagine most BAP Trades will be privately arranged anyway.

we'll keep an eye on the forum and consider adjusting the timer.

Seems like 1 day would be a lot better option than 30 minutes.

never mind this makes sense:
BAPS change in value all of the time. Be aware that when you place a bid, the value of the BAP may increase or decrease before the seller chooses a bid. You assume a certain risk when you bid on shares. To help protect bidders, share sales only last 2 hours, and then your bid (and obligation) expires.

just wondering in sell a piece why the highest bidder wouldnt always win? just wondering what the reasoning is for the seller being able to pick any of the bidders bids?
not being a smartass...just asking a question

copy/paste from another thread:
didn't realize the 5%...
thats a pretty ridiculous fee to charge for an "update tbl set userid=newuserid where shareid=xxx" statement
to expand
i understand you're making some mod's tasks 20x easier since they don't have to worry about doing this manually
but its functionality that existed before. i mean, ya, there is automated bidding now. but before you could just as easily open a thread and say "highest bid wins" and proceed
it kinda sucks that users have to pay for something like this imo. esp at that high of a premium

I would request this period is moved to either 30 or 60 days rather than 15, some transactions may take longer than that to complete once shipping is factored in.
