Hi everyone! I hope everyone will consider participating in this daily poker action plan each day, as it is an easy way for us to magnify our individual voices. These items take just a few minutes to complete, so we can all do these quite quickly and painlessly. Thanks!

======================================

Wednesday, May 16, 2012

Let's all meet with our Congressmen over the Memorial Day Congressional recess (May 19th thru May 29th) -- when they back in their districts -- to discuss the importance of passing online poker legislation this year:
  • Please call your Congressman today (click HERE to find your Member of Congress, along with his/her district office phone numbers) to schedule a face-to-face meeting at his/her district office during the recess.
  • Talking points, a summary of HR 2366, and the recent letter from the Fraternal Order of Police in support online poker licensing are HERE for download and printing. Please use them for reference and to leave with your representative after the meeting.
  • Should you have any questions prior to the meeting please feel free to contact me via a post here or a PM.
  • Let's send prefilled, editable tweets to GOP lawmakers: HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE,HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, and HERE.
  • Let's send a prefilled tweet promoting today's action plan HERE and let's share today's action on our own Facebook walls HERE.

Thanks. I've not stickied it on other forums, as the stickied threads can get overlooked. I'll see how it goes here and will request a sticky if it appears it will help generate action.

I appreciate your concern on that. I have around five figures locked up on FTP myself.

PPA and the poker community are doing all we are doing all we can on the FTP situation. PPA has met with the Justice Department to assert that the frozen funds belong to players. We are all hopeful that the proposed purchase to GBT goes through, of course, as that is likely our best chance at getting 100% reimbursement.

PPA is neither a regulatory body nor an enforcement agency. We are a player advocacy group, so our ability to force these sites to comply with our calls for action is limited. In fact, this is why PPA is pushing for legislation that gives us the rights we need as players. The PPA-supported legislation now in Congress focuses strongly on consumer protection. It mandates protected and segregated player accounts, a U.S. presence (to allow for law enforcement action if needed), and many other provisions that protect our rights as players.

If you have more ideas on how we can recover our money from these sites, please post them ITT.
