MTT Army staking
A very fun staking idea that can be very profitable. A chance to share a rail with a bunch of fellow members and get involved in the community. The idea of an MTT army stake is to put a bunch of people into one single tournament, usually a micro buyin of $3.30, $2.20, and $1.10. I have seen anywhere from 10 to about 30 people put into the same one in. However many you want to choose is fully up to you.
Usually all members picked are directed to post in one single rail thread, either created by the staker or a designated member chosen to make the thread. Everyone gets to post in here and help each other out. Maybe give your fellow members some advice on what they could've done in a certain situation, but please contstructive criticism and critiquing only, try to avoid useless flaming.
A common thing the staker will do is set up possible prizes for certain accomplishments. Usually, the staker will offer a prize to the member who goes deepest and lasts longest. Other options are offering a bonus prize for getting to the FT, getting heads up, and winning the tournament. The possibilities here are endless...you come up with some creative ideas and use them.
The thing about selecting 10 or more members to participate in the same MTT is that one or possibly even more of them are bound to hit deep. This is very fun to see someone go deep, and everyone that participates in the stake and even other members can enjoy railing their fellow members to a big hit and possible victory. Overall, MTT armies are a fun, low risk possible high reward unique way for members to stake.
Anyone that has any ideas or input to add on MTT army staking, feel free to do so. GL to anyone who decides to try this out, I know I will be over the next few days.

I ran one of these for my 1000th staker point, putting 20 or so in and giving a prize to certain levels. Im going to be doing another event for my 2000th point, but this time there will be a twist. Keep your eyes peeled for details.

i agree with phil here. these are a great way to put out stakes on a small bankroll, and usually a small risk with a decent chance of a return.
if you stake 10 guys, usually one or two will cash from the 10 cent level up to the 2.20 or 3.30 level. while this may not result in the biggest gain it is:
A. fun for all involved
B. usually a decent return for the staker
C. gives noobs a chance to prove themselves
D. gives the staker a chance to find a new horse
gl on your army stakes.

taterman and i have done this in the past. u will only profit if someone makes FT. We did 20 into a 1.1 and 20 into 2.2 acouple times each
one of the times we had 12 out of the 20 make the money..... and we still did not break ever......
one time we had 3 make the money and 1 fted and we actually made 40 bucks (our cut)
and all the other times we lost money.
in my opinion the only way to make an mtt army worth it is to stake 10 or 20 horses into a 5.5. there can be some realy money into them. you will get better caliber horses and better caliber players in the mtts then the donkfests. IMO much better chance of making money and possibly making some serious money at that.

personally I think this is -ev, especially for the lower buyins where 20% is involved. One horse normally does well enough himself here, plus you aren't losing anymore then the 1 buyin imo. Seems like 5 or 6 out of 10 horses can cash and you'd still be losing money if one of them didnt go real deep.

i liked this army idea and tried it last night i had 7 horses, plus myself run a small micro MTT and not only did one of them go deep, i had 2 of them finish 1st and 2nd!
there was a potential problem though... there was a little cross-table cheerleading for each other throughout the tourney, and then when it got down to 3, there was some suspicion of chip-dumping between a couple of my horses. the 3rd place guy suggested that he could email support about it. our guy said it was an accident, and i give him the benefit of the doubt. however, it seems to me that the army thing runs this kind of risk, especially when we are all inclined to be supportive of one another in the chat.
anyone else run into anything like this?

can anyone go into more detail about their MTT Armies? i keep seeing people say it's -EV, but i've run 6 daily MTT's in a row with a lot of success. i know it's a small sample, but i'm getting over 100% ROI.
i'd like to hear what others have done and try to figure out if mine is different. i'm running them in razz MTTs and the entries are in the 200 range +/-40 or so. so i think i have a larger % of the field then say putting them in a NLHE MTT.
any thoughts?

I have had terrible success with my armys....I think i need to put them up for longer tho, i tend to pick people with little pp's then get screwed.
