Well you only have $30 in staker points which leads me to believe your biggest 2 problems are:

1. You're not staking the best of the site since you can't afford to and they tend to not apply for small stakes.

2. You're staking individual events instead a series which tends to be more profitable for stakers.

My advice is to check out stats for every player. I have noticed that a lot of the top posters receive many stakes with only a few hundred in their PokerDB. People who don't post like crazy can sometimes have a few thousand in their DBs. Also, check to see if the people who have applied have ran other stakes and look at the hand histories. Seeing how they play will help determine if it is a good stake or not.

Great advice ... even great horses with Sharkscope ROI figures above 20% (at least for SnGs) need ample shots to make the money. Personally, I ran a 10 game, $20 180 SnG series and had no money finishes until the 7th or 8th game. Thank god this one finish paid for the series.

If you're looking at making money in one-off events, go more with the MTT Army approach ... several horses in the same event. And even if you look at the top 5 players here for MTTs, we're only going to money (on average) 1 in every 5 or 6 events.
