Default are low stake heebs to get into tournies more or less profit

was just wondering... i like to stake people to run a cash game then take winnings to a tourney

is that dumb... i figure im getting very good expected outcome with little investment, however i understand cash players and tourney players are a diff. breed so might not be smart

input is wellcome

problem is that you be small stacking your guy in the cash game. stupid stars has a $5 max buy in for .01 .02 nlhe instead of the standard $2 so if you give someone $1 they really need to search for a good looking game.

if you have them play 2.20, 3.30, or 5.50 mtts with 20% payouts then i think it might have a chance to succeed.

even then tho i'm not sure.

say you stake 10 people $2 to run to $5.50 to play the mtt

how many can u expect to make it? if you get 5 i think that would be a victory

so how many of those are going to cash in the mtt? 1-2 maybe.

then you need that person to go pretty deep to even break even on your $20, but then again there is a small chance that person gets top 3 and a big payday.

you also have to pick honest people to run cash games too or have a very detailed rail

Agree with dmarcus about NL cash games. I think you would have to specify they play the cash games on the limit tables. Shouldn't be too hard to run .40 to 1.10 for a small MTT--that's basically what you do on the cathar/gorios step chart anyway. If you want them to play a larger buy-in, you need to say something like: "sit at .02/.04 til $1, then sit at .05/.10 til 2.20 (3.30, 5.50, whatever). It could take forever to run .40 to 5.50 at the .02/.04 tables.

I think it could be done, but as you say, cash games and tournaments are completely different animals, so you're taking your chances. You have to get someone like *ahem* me--I know how to play NL in a tourney, but can't play NL cash games for crap. I do pwn the micro LHE though--the perfect combo.

Just don't set your expectations too high--dmarcus is right, if you staked 5, probably 3 or 4 would make it to the tourney and maybe one would cash. But you've only put in $2.00, so it wouldn't take much for you to at least get your stake back.
