Default Omaha H/L strategies/tips

I have a general understanding of the game and am decent at the tables (55th yesterday in the 5.50 PL O8 H/L, 387 entries) but I think I can be more profitable if I had a more detailed understanding of the game, how to play and when to play, what starting hands are +ev to play, etc.

If anyone has any tips for both cash and Mtt play, let me know. Thanks.

You are going to have to be a little more specific.

alright, let's start with basics. what's the range of hands that are good preflop? I know AA23 double suited is considered one of the best preflop hands but what else? A 2 3 4? A 3 4 5? etc? what range of preflop hands are good to play with/raise with?

If you are looking for information on starting hand requirments I'll recommend Bill Boston's book on Omaha H/L. He goes into great detail outline which hands he plays preflop, and why.

While starting hands are important, PLO8, especially cash, is a post flop game involving position, representation, position, manipulation of the pot, position, misrepresenting the direction of your hand, position, 2-way hands, extra outs, position, bluffing against missed draws, position, manipulation of the pot, and most importantly, position.

As for starting hands, start with what hands not to play in any position especially those involving 8/9/T. Play many of the others in position, and very few OOP.

Zenman is right in that all those things will make you a big winner but it's pretty easy to have a solid winrate just playing tight and waiting for donks to give you $$ with the second or third nuts. The Boston book is great but essentially you want to have hands that are likely to win both the high and low sides. Suited aces are crucial for this as the easiest way to scoop a pot is to make both the nut low and the nut flush. There is waaaaaaaaay too much overall strategy to give you an overview, but if you read in the sng strategy section there is a lot of good stuff on hand analysis and just reading how some of the players on here think will help you w/ your game.
