Live 1-2 NL
I've had some experience over they last 4-5 years playing live 1-2NL (200 max) with some good results. If I wanted to start taking it semi-seriously and put in 20 hours a week (weekends), could I expect to make $30.00 an hour long term? Could I get by on a 2K bankroll? 4K would be ideal, I know.
Also, any advice on live tells is appreciated...

Depends on where you play and what the action is like. I play almost every weekend at my local indian casino and playing there it is very reasonable to expect $30 an hour.... Longterm I think it might be closer to $20 an hour, but nonetheless it is doable.... Again based on your venue of play 2k might be plenty, however 4k is much better obviously....

Where can you play in Mansfield? I was there back in 2005 doing construction (remodeling the Meijer), and I didn't know about any poker there...

Nowhere in Mansfield, but I go to Wheeling Island, Mountaineer, and Detroit casinos (Greektown mostly). Its about 2 hrs to Wheeling and 3 hrs to Detroit. There are good players, but plenty of fish

2k is nowhere near enough, neither is 4k imo. I think for live play you'd need a roll of 10k to be comfortable. The variance of live play is so brutal, which is why i don't play live anymore. Think about it this way. A 20k hand downswing is nothing online and I could play 20k hands in 2 weeks. Live, you play on average 20-25 hands p/h (? correct me if I'm wrong), which equals 800 hours of play, in your case that's 40 weeks worth of play. This may be a bit extreme but you get the picture, You run bad for longer periods of time.
Also, regarding a winrate of $30 an hour at 1/2, no where near sustainable for long periods of time. Sure you could run good for a few months, but that equates to a winrate 30PTbb/100, which isn't sustainable even against the most retarded players.

Just because you play less hands an hour, why would you need a bigger bankroll. You will run bad for longer time-wise but wont lose any more $. Also the standard of play in live games, coupled with the normally lower rake (depends where you play) means a higher winrate can be achieved but $30 an hour probably is a little high, $20 an hour is more than reasonable though.
Having said that a 2k bankroll is still not enough, a 4k bankroll is an absolute minimum really.
