Default Stop-N-Go

I never really use this mainly because I have no idea when the right time is to use it.

Any HH examples and when is the right time to use this in 9-mans? Stack sizes relevant?

You use it when you're short stacked (4 BB is a good example) and feel that a push wont force out your opponent. So you call preflop and push on the flop regardless of what you have, hoping that your opponent completely missed the flop and doesn't want to give you any more chips (3BB worth). It also helps to act first on the flop so he can't agress, and to also have a decent hand preflop (doesn't mean you shouldn't push on the flop if you miss).

This works because if you go allin preflop it's pretty much a guaranteed gamble, whereas if you stop-n-go there's a chance he'll fold. Still, don't expect a fold on the flop too often.

According to Colin Moshman:

"Suppose you have a solid hand and are facing a pot-commiting raise. You have decided to play the hand, but there is no chance a pre-flop raise will get your opponent to fold. Then, consider a Stop-N-Go. Merely call the pre-flop raise, and then bet the remainder of your chips at the flop regardless of what comes"

One hand example:

Blinds 100-200, 9 players

You (t700) in the BB with KQo.

Action to you: 5 player fold. The loose button (t2600) minraises t400. The small blind folds.

This is a situation where you can do it. You have almost no fold equity PF, but probably has some on the flop.

The hand example is also from Colin. I think you don't have too much fold equity on the flop, but probably more than PF. I think the fact that you have just called PF and then decided to push on the flop can make some people with unimproved hands or with little pocket pairs with 3 overcards on board think that you hit something.
